Elizabeth Tolson is an Expanded Media Artist and Educator whose work explores the boundaries of art, technology, and feminism. Tolson holds an MFA from Parsons the New School for Design (2013) and a BFA from Alfred University (2010). Challenging group norms through over-representation of societies gender flaws, she draws the audience in with her provocative work. She has participated in residencies at Benaco Arte, Open Wabi, Lacawac Sanctuary, and ProjectArt at the Bushwick Brooklyn Library. Tolson’s work has been featured in New York Time’s T Magazine, Styleite, Make Magazine, Beautiful/Decay, and Adafruit. Exhibits include Target Gallery in Alexandria, VA; The Washington Project for the Arts Experimental Media Series at The Philips Collection in Washington D.C.; Cuchifritos Gallery in New York City, SXSW in Austin, Texas, and K&P Gallery in Chelsea, NY. Tolson currently based in Brooklyn, NY where she is Part Time Faculty at Parsons the New School for Design.
